Meet Nathan Stoddard, Software Engineering Manager for IXRF Systems
IXRF Systems thrives on the strength of our people, and today, we celebrate Nathan Stoddard as a valuable member of our team. His dedication, expertise, and unwavering commitment continually influence our company’s progress.
What is your role at IXRF?
-
- Currently, I am the manager of software engineering, which, in short, means overseeing software development and providing support and guidance to our software team. While my day-to-day mainly involves working with the software development team, I also leverage my years of experience at IXRF to support our other teams. Whether that involves working with customers to support their research or calibration of instruments, I always strive to support everyone at IXRF.
What’s something most people don’t know about you?
-
- While it’s not much of a secret anymore, it is often the most surprising to people when they first hear about it. My family manages a ranch in South Texas, so quite often, my weekends involve feeding deer, cows, goats, and a variety of other animals we take care of.
What are your professional goals?
-
- My goal is pretty simple: I want to be involved in exciting projects that matter. To me, it is fulfilling to work on projects that are complex and have significant impacts on the work of our customers and colleagues. I believe that continually working on projects like these will continue my personal and professional development and allow me to take on more responsibility as the opportunities arise.
How does IXRF help you achieve those goals?
-
- IXRF is a fast-paced work environment that encourages collaboration and problem-solving. While at IXRF, I have worked with numerous customers facing unique challenges in their research or QA process. Each challenge has provided me with valuable experience and expertise that I would not be able to achieve anywhere else in software development.
What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
-
- When I went to college, I had difficulty choosing between Computer Science and Electrical Engineering. Since I chose Computer Science, I now use my free time to build small electronics projects and pretend I know how to be an Electrical Engineer.
