Meet Nirav Joshi, Application Scientist
We’re excited to introduce one of the newest members of the IXRF Systems team—our incredible Application Scientist, Nirav Joshi, who’s already making a big impact!
With a strong background in materials characterization and real-world lab experience, he’s all about helping our customers get the most out of their systems, solving complex challenges, and making science approachable and impactful. Whether it’s training, troubleshooting, or exploring new applications, Nirav brings a unique mix of curiosity, expertise, and passion to everything he does.
Can you tell us about your role at IXRF Systems?

- As an Application Scientist, my role is all about enabling success—for both our customers and internal teams. I help users get the most out of their systems, solve complex analytical challenges, and provide hands-on feedback to support continuous product improvement. With a background in materials characterization and real-world lab experience, I bring a practical, user-focused perspective that bridges science and application. Whether it’s training, troubleshooting, or exploring new use cases, I thrive at the intersection of technology and real-world impact.
You’ve had an incredible career. Can you share something that most people don’t know about you?

- Most people don’t know that I’ve lived/worked on four continents and speak four languages. Each move brought unique cultures, perspectives, and life lessons that continue to shape how I approach work, communication, and relationships. It’s been one of the most rewarding parts of my journey.
What are your current professional goals?

- My goal is to keep growing my expertise in analytical science while evolving as a mentor and leader. I’m passionate about making advanced material solutions more accessible and impactful, and I aim to play a key role in helping both customers and teams succeed through a science-first, people-centric approach. - IXRF offers the flexibility, challenges, and culture that fuel growth. I’m encouraged to explore ideas, collaborate across teams, and work with an incredibly diverse range of samples—from human tissue and plants to rocks, solar cells, and more. The hands-on, fast-paced environment pushes me to keep learning and to deliver value in creative, meaningful ways.
What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?

- Outside of work, I love playing cricket—it keeps me connected to my roots and satisfies my competitive side. I also enjoy spending quality time with my wife and our daughter, Kiara, and staying active in the gym. It’s how I recharge, stay grounded, and keep my energy up.
