MicroXRF map of a Geological Thin Section
This AppNote describes hyperspectral XRF imaging of a geological thin section using a 5 μm spot size and 50 kV X-ray source. The map area was 6.93 x 6.49 mm. Data was collected with a 100mSec point dwell and took 13 hours to collect. The Iridium Ultra screenshot shows distribution of the different elements identified within the sample. Atlas series of microEDXRF imaging spectrometers lead with innovation for geological research.
